THE DRONE FLOWN
Translation: The Equipment used!
Just In Case You Were Concerned
About Quality!
I fly a DJI MAVIC 3 Classic drone with a Hasselblad camera. The Mavic 3 is one of, if not THE finest, commercial drone available.
Want to dive a bit deeper into some specs? Ok, sure.
The Camera
This drone has a 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera. I can capture images in raw .DNG format and/or traditional JPG format. The .DNG format contains an extraordinary amount of information and detail in each capture making it the perfect format to work with in Adobe Photoshop’s Camera Raw Filter. It is NOT necessary to have such high quality images in many cases, especially if your focus will be to use the images for digital purposes only, but having that ability can – and will – make the images I shoot for you as good as they can possibly be! And with a little post production PhotoShop magic, be careful…your jaw may just hit the floor!
The camera is capable of 28x zoom for those occurrences when it is not possible for the drone to fly as close to the subject matter as one might like.
Its ability to capture low light footage is also excellent.
But What About Video (you say)?
Oh, I have you more than covered, my friend! The Mavic 3 shoots in up to 5.1k for crazy professional results. I can also shoot in 4k/60fps (and lower if necessary). The DJI Mavic 3 also has the ability to shoot in LOG format, too, for all of you video Geeks out there. This means exceptional quality in post production when using professional vide editing software such as Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve.
Does your job require following a moving subject with no silly, jerky motion (think following a single mountain bike rider)? No problem, My drone is equipped with Active Track which allows me to pick a subject on the screen and have the drone track it smoothly!
No matter what your needs are concerning the video coming off of my drone, you’re good to go.
OK And…Safety?
The Mavic 3 Classic drone that I fly has omni-directional obstacle avoidance. With this feature turned on, no need to worry about the drone touching anything while in flight.
Also, over the years I have developed quite the steady hand. To the point where I have flown this drone inside MANY a greenhouse all around Western New York with the safety feature turned OFF…without a single hiccup! While this isn’t a feature of the drone it is a feature of your pilot…which is every bit as important as the mechanical equipment.
Oh, and yes….I am insured as well.
